What started as a friendship quickly grew into a successful professional partnership.
After working together and discovering how naturally their skills, work styles, and dedication complemented one another, Jackie and Molly realized they could build something special.
Combining their passion for helping businesses succeed with their expertise in accounting and bookkeeping, they founded Root & Balance, LLC: a firm dedicated to bringing clarity, organization, and confidence to their clients' finances.
A little about Jackie...
Jackie is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Since 2017, Jackie has owned Jaclyn H. Patterson CPA, PLLC, where she helps individuals and small businesses navigate tax, accounting, and financial matters with practical, personalized guidance. Her experience also includes outsourced CFO services, accounting system implementations, and helping businesses improve their financial processes and reporting.

Outside of work, Jackie enjoys spending time with her three sons and relaxing at the beach or camping with her husband. She is currently embracing her houseplant era and enjoys creative home and plant projects, line dancing, and spending time with her two boxers, Max and Olive.
A little about Molly...
Molly is an accomplished and resourceful professional offering 20+ years of finance and accounting experience within dynamic environments. Molly received a Bachelor of the Arts from Boston University. She holds Teaching Certification for instruction in Mathematics for Grades 4-8.

Throughout her career, Molly has worked with businesses to strengthen financial operations, improve accounting processes, and support strategic business decisions. Her experience includes financial reporting and analysis, general ledger accounting, project management, regulatory compliance, and workflow optimization.

Outside of her professional life, Molly enjoys spending quality time with her family and making the most of life's simple pleasures. She loves baking, cooking, exploring new restaurants, and expressing her creativity through crafting. You'll often find her playing with her dogs, hanging out with her two daughters, or enjoying time with her husband, where they appreciate the outdoors and the opportunity to unwind together.
